I do play almost daily for 8 years now so i am not new.
Friday I patched LOTRO without looking to the results.
I updated my Zone-alarm anti-virus/firewall this Saturday morning.
When I start LOTRO, all goes well: Launcher, UserID+Password, Selection of Server (Laurelin), Loading the Character-select Screen, selecting a Character and clicking at Enter World.
Then the Landscape-screen with my character loads and I can see it for some seconds. There is one second of sound and the screen freezes. I cannot enter anything by keyboard or mouse and after these seconds PLOP I'm back at the Windows Desktop. Without any message.
When I do it again shortly after this, the Server signals it is cleaning up the old connection, so it seems a client failure.
I created a new character on another Server (Landroval), which worked fine, until i Loaded the Landscape-screen with the new character... It was there, but the same result, back to the Desktop.
I restored the LOTRO Program-directory (not the User-data or the folder in my documents) from a backup a couple days before the Patch and let the Launcher do its update again. Took some time and the result was the same.
I terminated my Firewall & Anti-Virus Software en terminated the Windows Firewall also. The results were the same.
I have Windows Vista-32 with 4GB, Have a router that connects my PC on a 100Mb Ethernet-LAN via my Cable-provider to Internet.
