"Dowmloading EN Lotro splash screen"

I've been unable to log-in to the game today, with the launcher getting stuck at "Downloading EN Lotro splash screen". I've been playing without any problems before, even earlier today. I tried some of the work-arounds and even re-installed the whole thing, but to no avail.

Anyone who maybe has some suggestions?

Spiel startet nicht...

Hi, ich wollte seit langem mal wieder HDRO spielen.
Also habe ich auf meinem PC (Neue Windows Version - Win7 64bit), das Spiel gerade erst ganz neuinstalliert. Er hat Stunden lang geladen und gepatcht.
Nun dachte super endlich fertig wollte spielen tja war wohl nix.

Anfangs kam der Fehler 201 als ich starten wollte trotz Adminrechten und allem. Also hatte ich gegoogelt da das Problem bei einem User behoben worden war,
habe ich das selbe gemacht das brachte auch einen gewissen Teil an Erfolg... nur jetzt kann ich den launcher starten kann mich einloggen und SOGAR die Welt
auswählen auf der ich spielen will doch danach passiert garnichts. Unter dem Task Manager finde ich sowohl den lotroclient als auch den lotro Launcher aber egal wie lange
ich warte es passiert absolut garnichts weiß wer ne Lösung?

Please help make me not have random crashes while playing lotro

Sometimes I log in and play lotro and have zero issues. Sometimes I log in and the game will suddenly just be closed (no exit screen) and I am back at windows. Usually this happens (from what I have noticed) when I have either the crafting menu open and am crafting my daily guild item or (more frequently) it happens when I have the AH screen open and am searching for items. I would say it happens once every 5-10 lotro launches, so altho annoying it is not life-altering. Yesterday however I decided to make an 'alt account' so that I could play two accounts simultaneously. My crashing 'problem' has become worse, so I suspect that perhaps my computer isn't good enough to adequately handle this task. This is what I have:

AMD A10-6800k APU with Radeon HD Graphics 4.1 GHz
AMD Radeon R9 200 series
8 GB RAM
Windows 8
(there is a SSD)

The computer itself is only a couple of months old - I had it built a week before I recently returned to lotro. I use the computer almost exclusively for lotro.

I am pretty ignorant when it comes to matters like this. Do I need more RAM? A better video card? A better processor?

Hash code error

Whenever I attempt to enter LOTRO, the update gets 55% complete and then stops and reads, "There was an error generating the hash code for a patch file." I have tried all of the techniques and solutions to get around this listed on the Turbine Technical Support database, however, nothing has happened. This has now been going on for about a week and nothing has changed.

Almost every night (US time) at least one of their servers keels over and is dropping 30%+ packets like it is the 1990s, can anything be done to not send traffic through this 'backbone'? Can barely browse the forums with this much packet loss. This is the shoddies internet backbone on the planet, can anything be done about it?

Trouble starting up game...

Hello! I haven't been able to play LOTRO for quite a few months, and today I tried to start up the game and can't make it past the first screen that pops up. When I double-click on the game icon, the Happy Cloud screen pops up, it says "Initializing... Please wait." and then the screen closes and nothing else happens. Is there anything else I can do? Or should I uninstall the game and re-install it? Thanks.

Cannot connect to Arkenstone

Last night my burg froze up and I lost connection. Upon multiple attempts I was
unable to get past the last load screen and get into Arkenstone.

I did hours of troubleshooting, I was able to get in once, but soon lost connection again.
I've done a cleanboot, checked with my ISP, all connections are sound.

I just logged into Imladris on some old toons I had created there years ago. That server seems pretty stable.

Alas Arkenstone is not. Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem?

Did a short stint of playing after work, logged off to eat dinner, came back, trying to log on again - and the launcher seems to be stuck on "Installing Pre-Reqs"...

I've been trying to log on for two days straight now and no matter what I try I keep getting this error. It's not my network as I have no issues logging on to any other online game or MMO. This is the only game I cannot play. The only thing I can think is that it's an issue with their network interacting with mine.

I cannot play because of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable!

When I try to launch the game, it tries to install C++, i get an error "Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.ALT.type="win3 2" ,version="8.0.50727.6195" ,publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e8e 3b",processorArchitecture="x86 "'

I tried installing separately both x32 and x86 versions but to no avail. Im at my wit's end, this is very frustrating.... If I try to play, I can select a server and it will "launch", but nothing happens. No black screen, nothing. Just my desktop.

Freljorn/Turbine what are you doing to fix the Server Connection issues?

It started about 1 week and half ago, it went from random crashes when i would go to a new region to every 20 min crashes and got till the point where im not able to even connect to the server at all!


i went to the router, renewed the ISP, released it too, turbinelauncher.exe and invoker all permit access done, and even userpreferences.ini i made the necessary modifications.\

ive read countless guides and posts about the crash issues related to ISP and ports but couldnt find a solution.
ofcourse i have no problem in my connection since other games including other mmos are working fine except for lotro.

I feel even robbed since i renewed my subscription exactly 5 days ago.. i feel cheated, if this continue to be ignored then i will have to cancel my subs.

Its really insulting that all you can care is to load more content to the game without basic support...

My connection is through wireless at home but i never had this problem before while using this type of connection.


If anyone still has any solution to the problem i would like to know, im still trying everything i can.

And if you turbine see my post please take a note and start to supporting the crashes and buggs within the game please!

Why does the game run so badly on my PC?

The PC im currently using is not the greatest PC around. Far from it. I have used it to play Lotro for the last 4 years. I never thought of trying or buying another MMO because i was sure i couldnt run any of the newer games if i cant run Lotro well.

For example: When i enter DA (on the lowest setting) i have fraction of a second freezes and FPS drops to 5, when doing Big battles i experience the same thing only more frequently every 30 seconds or so.. When im outside of DA FPS is over 60. Im not even going to mention moors.

I bought GW2 a few days ago on sale and to my surprise on mid-low setting my fps is around 35-40 and never drops under 25.

Im curious if someone could explain this very peculiar thing.. Why does a 3 year old game run so much better for me then a 8 year old one?

Launcher keeps freezing while patching.

I'm running Windows 8.1, and when I try to patch the game the launcher keeps freezing while updating the Dat files. It freezes between 1% and 2% at random. I can't seem to find a solution or anyone else with the same problem. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Trying game once again.

I am going to try another run at playing LOTRO. So before re installing the game I wanted to get some advice.

The main reason I quit was because of the stuttering and rubber-banding of game-play. Now I have been playing since launch and tried many of the suggested tweaks but none ever seemed to address the poor game play. Let me list a few:

1. Bought an SSD and installed game on that drive.
2. Followed the step by step guide that is common on the forums. ( sorry cant seem to find the post but it has been around awhile)
3. Complete uninstalls and fresh installs
4. upgrade my computer. Here are my current specs.
CPU i5
GPU EVGA Nvidia 780GTX
16g ram
60 mgs cable network connection
I can run all my other MMOS full graphics with NO issues. ( GW2, WOW, ESO, WIldstar) So i know this set up should be able to run LOTRO

My issues is always the same. rubber banding/stuttering.

The big questions is: Before and after I re install is there any new know tweaks or changes that I can do to make this game playable?

Hello IT,

I am suffering from game crash in my PC after update 15 however, my computer features are as below:

- Windows: 7 Professional

- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz

- RAM: 6.00 GB (3.24 GB usable)

- System Type: 32-bit Operating System

- Hard Disk Space: 78.1 GB (on C only), total is 222 GB


Could you please assist me on this issue?

A strange problem with launcher

I'm trying to download the new update, but after almost every instaled file my Windows asks if I want to run the program as a curent user, or as an administrator. Then the launcher restarts, downloads another file and so on. Pretty annoying, there are near 4000 files to update:)

What Antivirus/Firewall/Malware program is most compatible with LOTRO?

My old laptop had trend micro titanium on it and I couldn't get past a certain point in the launcher. Now I have a new laptop and the trial period for the malware program that came with the computer (McAfee) is about to expire. What antivirus program works best with LOTRO? Or which one is the easiest to alter settings on so that if I have a problem, Ii can add lotro.exe as an exeption or something?

Changing Resolution to HQ

Hi everyone,

I'm new and only played for like only 15 mins. forgive me if my question has been asked before.

While patching/installing there was a pop up that has an option that I could install a HIGH QUALITY game that requires downloading a 6gb file.

I chose NO cause it says there that I can do it later on.


When I got into the game, I was given a DirectX 11 HQ settings and find it "not so" HQ.

Is that it? Do I need to do something else so I could choose the downloaded 6gb file?
