My son and I have had an issue over the last several weeks where we would login, choose the server to play but the game would not start up. It would take us back to account login without any other errors or information.
After several attempts to uninstall and install the program, and days of researching through the forums here, I finally found the answer.
Our internet provider is Comcast (Xfinity) and we installed the Constant Guard program to help protect our computers. Well it turns out that it has flagged the lotroclient.exe and blocked it from being executed. Of course it never bothered to tell us that.
So you have two choices, uninstall Constant Guard or better than that, go into the Constant Guard settings and go to Blocked Programs. When the listing comes up and you see the lotroclient.exe, click the ALLOW radio button and apply the changes.
