So this afternoon I pulled out my Mithril Edition discs and installed LOTRO. Deep into the updating process with about 11000 files left out of an original 34000 ish, it stopped working. It gets to examine game data and then it says "unable to decrypt and de-serialize the data downloaded from the server." I have Windows 8 and this is the first error so far. I've tried running in compatability for various windows editions and running as administrator. Nothing works. It gets to the "retrying in 00:59" and counts down, as soon as the timer is up the launcher apparently freezes. Any ideas? It might be worth noting that I DID download DDO high-res and, oddly enough, it works without a hitch. Didn't at first but with a few tries it does.
