akamai net session client is always running!

I tried to update LoTRO and noticed afterwards that my internet had become quite slow. Akamai had 2 processes running on my PC even after I closed the launcher. I restarted my PC and they were STILL there, and my internet was still slow. Uninstalled Akamai client and my internet is back to normal. Not cool Turbine, there's no reason for that thing to be running when I'm not patching or playing, especially if it throttles my bandwidth. I am officially disgruntled.
